NME - 21 March, 1981 - It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad Madness World NUTTY BOYS BIOPIC MADNESS started work this week on their first full-length feature film, Take It Or Leave It (which is the title of one of the songs on their current album 'Absolutely'). The movie covers the period from 1976 to 1979, and documents the band's career from their first steps as musicians, through their early gigs and towards their emergence into the big-time. It's being shot entirely on location in London's Camden Town and Islington, directed by Stiff Records chief Dave Robinson, who is also co-producer with Phil McDonald. The seven Madness members are featured as themselves in the picture with other parts played by professional actors. Arrangements have already been made for it to do the rounds of one of the major cinema circuits when it's completed - and that's scheduled for this autumn. ![]() - Contributed by Fredd Boeuf Madness In Print Return Return to Homepage | Return to Top of Page |
