Tour Madness July 3rd 1979 - LONDON: Moonlight Club Line-up: Madness, The Merton Parkas Set List Includes: Memories The Prince Land Of Hope & Glory Stepping Into Line Rockin in Ab Swan Lake Shop Around With only one PA for the vocals, Madness have no trouble winning the sellout crowd for them. Suggs and Chris swap places for the bluesy heartbreak ballad Memories (of which the studio take appears in April 1981 on the B side of the Grey Day' single). Gary Bushell writes a review for Sounds magazine in which he dismisses the covers of Swan Lake and Shop around as sacrilege, but otherwise Bushell has nothing but praise for the band: 'That they are a classy dance band is evidenced by Madness and their tribute to its author, The Prince, and Land Of Hope & Glory. Not to mention the rockers Steppin' Into Line and Rockin' In Ab. Loads of people danced and had a good time'. Return to Homepage | Return to Top of Page |
