Madness record a session for Mike Read's programme (aired the 31st) showcasing tracks that will be recorded for an EP of which Nightboat To Cairo will be the leading track. The session opens with Deceives The Eye, a song inspired by Razzle In MY Pocket, Ian Dury's shoplifting anthem. Carl takes the vocals for Don't Quote Me On That, a response to the negative publicity fuelled by the New Musical express article from November 1979. ''It don't matter if you're black, white or Chinese. Just shut up, listen and dance"
