Tour Madness Over 30 Years of Gigs, Tours, TV & Radio Appearances, & Beyond Welcome to Tour Madness, Madness Central's complete and comprehensive guide to all live appearances on stage, screen and multimedia... From a back garden in Islington, 1976, via pubs, venues, theatres, arenas, parks, forests, racecourses, ships, busses and country estates to storming the 02' dome, it's over 30 years of Madness gigs. They became hero's of 80's Top of the pops too, and The Young Ones through 90's TFI Friday to The Paul OGrady Show, and never off the airwaves from John Peel Sessions to BBC6 & Multimedia. There is nothing else quite like live Madness. "All of this". Tour Madness Recently... Kentish Town - Wednesday May 5th BEN SHERMAN CLOTHING RANGE LAUNCH PARTY ![]() A small pub venue, The Flower Pot in Kentish Town, is the setting for a launch party for a Ben Sherman Madness Clothing Range set to be released in July this year. Carl is unable to reach the UK for the gig, so Thommo begins proceedings in the packed out pub with "Aint you all got homes to go to? One Step Beyond." Then as he takes up sax Suggs trys to fill in and fails on the "Soul to soul, nation to nation" part. Lee throws a coconut into the crowd that's in danger of smashing one of the wall mounted clothing displays, he later throws his hat at Jennie Bellstar who is stage left front. The Violin Monkeys on top form are so close the crowd the trombone is in danger of punching someone. A pillar on stage is promised to later have a pole dancer on it, though only a towel face wearing Suggs ever does dance round it. His description of the forthcoming Election in the UK is unflattering F words. While the bar is stood on for solo's from Chris or Lee. A rapid 17 song set includes Camden's fist airing of That Close, (and MKII was played a few times in the soundcheck though not at the main gig.) By the time of The Sun and The Rain it's a crowd harmony room of singing and dancing that turns the wooden floor boards into a bouncy platform. A fitting party to celebrate Manager Hugh's Birthday, and It Must Be Love is dedicated to him.
